Help me give my students end of the year gifts that are fun and will keep their minds active with a gratitude journal and color pencils, and their favorite fidget toys.
I teach in a Title I, poverty school where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. I'm the general education teacher in an inclusion classroom. My students have finally returned to our classroom after being online since last March. We have returned to school with the hybrid model where my students are at school two to three days a week.
My students have been back at school for just over a month face to face and have been working tirelessly to gain back what they lost during virtual learning.
They have had many challenges over this last year being isolated, navigating online learning and new technology, and now relearning how to socialize while maintaining social distancing. Regardless of these challenges, my students come to school with smiles on their faces, determined to make the most of each day.
My Project
My students continue to persevere through the many challenges they face daily at-home virtual learning and at school face to face. Although I do my best to keep the same routine for online learning and at school, my student's lives are constantly changing.
I want to provide my students with a summer gift bag filled with items that will help to keep them calm and also help them to find positivity in their everyday lives.
I would like to give my students a gratitude journal and colored pencils to reflect on the positive things in their lives. I also want to give them their favorite class fidget toys they can play with to help them stay calm or patient when they are out and about, or relaxing at home.
