Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will help my students have a safe place to retreat when they need to calm their emotions. The flip books in this project give them great access to identifying their feelings, and then finding constructive ways to copy with those feelings on their own. They can then use the resources in this project to calm themselves so that they can feel ready to learn. The goal is for the students to be able to self-regulate their emotions while in the classroom. However, I also want to use many of these resources as a whole group with my class. The books can be read to the whole group, and breathing exercises can be done together as a whole group as well. Once they are taught, the posters and charts included in this project will be available in the Calming Corner for them to access if they need a refresher.
