Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very diverse. Many of my students have needs that would be helped by developing a calming corner in the classroom. These students are great because they want to learn and do their best. I would love to help students who have varying needs feel comfortable and make the classroom more conducive to learning. Calming corners are something we are working on as a district and I hope to help students get used to the idea of this by making the area as comfortable as possible.

My Project

Many of my students have different needs. This will help them to feel comfortable in the classroom. The optional seating is great for my students because they will be able to focus more on what they are learning and less on how they don't feel comfortable. The classroom currently has stools, which can become uncomfortable during the long class periods. The bean bag chairs help students who are feeling restless. The ball chairs are supportive for students, while maintaining the height needed for students to work at tables. These kids deserve to have the classroom be a place they feel comfortable and I believe these chairs would help with that.
