I teach in a second grade inclusion classroom in Ashburn, VA. My class is truly a family and that is what I love most. The students in my room have vastly different learning styles and needs, but they show love and support for each other. They cheer each other on in times of success, and offer hugs in tough times. Social-emotional learning and emotional regulation are focuses in my room, as I hope to help my kiddos navigate social situations appropriately.
My Project
In a Special Education Inclusion Classroom, with a great variation of learners and abilities, we are looking to add flexible seating and a calming environment with simple decor.
All students deserve a calm and cozy environment that fits their learning style.
With these items, we are hoping to create a space with minimal distractions, and maximum learning! Soothing and calming colors, as well as comfy options for seats will help achieve this goal.
By having a less stimulating environment, we are hoping to meet the needs of students who have attention challenges, or who may learn in a different way!
