My Students
I am so excited about this school year! My PreKinders are learning and eagerly exploring their world. Our adventures have been many and full of excitement from learning the colors and their names to investigating 2-D and now 3-D shapes. "How do inclines affect the buildings we build?" and "What are the characteristics of living vs non-living things?", have become hot topics over the year!
Our school is an urban; Title 1 School with 100% free breakfast and lunch.
I currently have 20, four and five year-olds that are busy exploring their world. This is my third year as a PreKinder teacher at my school and I am enjoying the expansion of minds that shows as their critical thinking skills continue to develop through our fun and educational activities.
My Project
My young scholars are always busy and engaged, but through-out the day their young minds need to find anchor and rest before going onto the next work cycle. A classroom carpet is just the ticket! We transition between work cycles to review and evaluate what we learned and having a classroom carpet allows them a place to come to and organize their thoughts without feeling like they are floating in space. A classroom carpet helps to build classroom community by giving each member of the class their own specific space, yet encouraging each student to pull together in one area.
