This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Boy do my kids love reading! Our favorite time of the day is when we can all gather together and dive into a good book. So far this year we've read, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and The One and Only Ivan. As we return from winter break, Holes by Louis Sachar will be our focus.

My students are English learners, so speaking up and sharing amongst peers can be intimidating.

But...come together on the rug and talk to your pals about the awesome book you're reading...well THAT'S not so scary! So here's where we need your help. We have outgrown our rug. We need a little room to stretch our legs and spread our wings! Help us purchase two smaller rugs to flank our bigger one and you will help us gather together and cozy up with a good book! Is there anything better?
