My Project

As a PSW in a middle school, our role is to provide a space for students to not only express themselves but also ground themselves when they are having a hard time. This project focuses on creating a space that students can use to learn how to and actively calm themselves. We want students to use mindfulness cards, fidget toys, and other sensory items to bring them back to a calm state. In addition, items like the bulletin boards, moon lamp, projector, and Christmas lights can serve as decor to create a warm environment to help them stay focused on the calming activity of their choice.
