This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The furniture and materials we selected will give our students a space to feel welcomed and the ability to calm their bodies when they are feeling tired, hurt, sad or even angry. Our students are 3 to 5 year old who have different abilities and needs.

Children with autism and speech delay struggle with expressing their feelings and will benefit from all these materials.

Many of the materials will provide sensory input and visuals to help our students to calm their bodies. The books will also be a tool to help them calm down, manage their breathing and to identify their feelings.
