This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will allow me to create a serene and calming space for my students to take a break. I will use these materials to help my students recognize what they are feeling and take some time to regulate their emotions. I will model for students healthy coping strategies such as deep breathing, drawing/coloring and reading and encourage their use of these skills outside the classroom to help them develop healthy relationships as adults. My ultimate goal with this space is to help develop the social emotional skills of my students so they grow up to be adults who can cope with their emotions and adversities.
