This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been in a dual language class since they started school in kindergarten and they have learned to become a family. Just like all families, they have disagreements and what better way to give them their own space in our classroom where they can decompose. They need an area where they feel comfortable enough to calm themselves down like comfortable bean bags and a soft rug with an array of options that will help them calm down such as legos, plasma ball, emotional plush toys, books that they can read, stress balls and an Echo dot with wireless headphones where they can listen to music. All of these items can be found in their calming area in a designated storage basket. They will benefit from this calming area to help them refocus their attention on their education and the success that it will bring them.
