This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project is to create a positive, safe, calming corner in my classroom. In our calming corner there will be hand held items to help them calm down and self regulate, like stress balls, lava lamps and books expressing feelings.

Every child encounters a time when they experience overwhelming emotions.

Without self-regulation or a safe place to escape, these emotions can spiral.

As we come back together to our community of learning I want to give them a safe space in which they can learn, play and grow while learning to express and deal with their own personal emotions.
