This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After the surge of COVID-19, my students need additional social emotional support especially being from low funded communities. My kiddos know my room is a space where they can relax and release their feelings. And I want to be able to add and make their calm corner feel the best! They may not always be comforted through my words, but sometimes through my presence and office environment, which is why a calm down corner is necessary for their continued success at school.

Students will be able to stop by and de-stress when they have big feelings in their classrooms.This calm down corner will lessen learning disruptions, so students can continue to thrive during the rest of the school day.
