This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a new PSW I am looking to incorporate various elements with students to enhance their socio-emotional health. Sometimes students may be dealing with difficult feelings and need tools to help self-regulate. The items will help with learning, coping and self- regulating. For instance, students may practice using skills on posters, release unwanted feelings using fidgets and learn more about feelings through reading.

Students may engaged in mindful activities and use tools within the calm area to de-escalate and regroup before rejoining their classroom lesson.

In addition, most items will be available to fulfill multiple student needs.
