This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi everyone, I am a first-year teacher and my goal is to create a calming area that my students would be able to enjoy. This area is intended to provide a safe space for my students when they are feeling stressed, anxious, or need a calming area. Having a calming area is crucial for the classroom environment as it helps promote a positive learning space for students to learn, grow and navigate emotions. Please help me create this space with bean bag chairs, a rug, pillows, and sensory items for my students. They will be able to go to the area to relax, talk, and use items such as the LEGOs quietly as they regroup for learning. Any contribution helps. My students would love to have a calming area in our class.
