Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to teach my students how to recognize and manage their emotions. I believe the earlier we teach kids how to manage their emotions the stronger and more independent they will become as they grow older.

Teaching social emotional lessons encourages my students to self-regulate and become problem solvers!

Tools and strategies such as fidgets, weighted blankets, flexible seating, wall posters and visual timers will assist my students is neutralizing their emotions. Once they have calmed themselves, we will work through social stories as a class to reinforce how to solve problems.
