This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Much like the Grinch, my kids make my heart grow in ways that I never anticipated. I see them push back, struggle, and finally, with lots of practice, succeed. They are at the wonderful age between thinking that they know everything and realizing how unprepared they are for moving forward into high school and beyond. They live between hubris and fear.

My students need a calming space that helps them refocus their energy and inspires them to use meditation techniques to achieve their goals.

I need supplies to turn an uninviting room into a sanctuary of peace and learning. I'm sorely lacking in design and more importantly informative posters that my students can look at during independent and group work periods.
