Help me give my students a cozy corner to calm down in times of need!
We are now a trauma informed school and with that comes the need for a calm down corner in our classroom.
I teach in a low socioeconomic community. A large percentage of our students receive free or reduced-price meals. The families are extremely involved in their children's learning making my job so much easier.
Our community is so small that we have to bring the opportunities to them.
The students walk into my class each day full of wonder. I strive each day to show them that someone does care about them.

My Project
We are now a trauma informed school so I am focusing on the implementation of a calm down corner to begin next school year.
My students often leave the classroom to find a space to relax and calm down in times of stress.
I would like to implement the calm down corner of my room where they can go on their own without having to notify me of their need to calm down or take a break.
I am requesting a big comfy chair, a floor lamp with shelves to house some calm down items such a fidgets, and a cozy rug and pillow.
