They are loving, kind hearted students who want to learn. These students try their hardest every day but unfortunately some of them lack the ability to cope with life's struggles. They all come from different homes, ethnic backgrounds, and experiences. Teaching students not only academics, but also life skills can be difficult without the proper tools.
These wonderful scholars are learning about emotions and social interactions.
These specific resources will help them manage stressful situations and cope with daily life.
My Project
Implementing a new behavior system school wide takes a lot of people and a lot of resources. These calm down boxes will consist of a couple of fidgets, sand timer, and items that will help a anxious or frustrated student calm down.
These boxes will allow the teachers to teach their kids how to cope with their emotions in a educational and constructive way.
The sand timers will allow the students to be mindful of their time with the calm down box. The fidgets will keep their hands busy and their bodies calm. They will in turn learn how to respect themselves, learn about themselves, and respect others emotions as well.
