Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a wonderful bunch of 5th and 6th graders! I see them waiting to enter the school in the morning, eager to learn. I hear them linger in the hallways after school as they love the environment and culture within their school.

These students need so much help from their schools as a support system within their communities.

I wish I could give them everything they ever needed to succeed in life. Please help my students receive the education they deserve.

My Project

These materials will allow my students to have a private area in the classroom to regulate themselves. The dividers will allow my students to have a safe space. The carpet will give them something they can lay on if they choose. By providing my students with a sand timer, my students can self-monitor the amount of time they are in the calm corner.

This space will help my students get the most out of their school day.

My students will use this space to help them learn coping strategies that they can then apply to their everyday life. Thank you.
