Our students are a diverse group of children from low socio-economic backgrounds. Our school is around 85% At-Risk, which can limit their experiences and supplies. Our focus includes giving these children a safe and consistent place to learn and grow as they become young adults.
One of our school goals is to create productive and caring citizens that will maintain and assist their community!
We continue to focus on well-rounded children who will one day turn into well-rounded adults! Building our school community is an essential part of making this happen.
My Project
My students deserve a warm and welcoming classroom where their learning is the number one goal. A floor lamp for the reading area, a diffuser, and oils for creating a calm environment and organizers that make the room appealing are needed for these wonderful kids.
When an area looks good, students feel good about their learning.
The more organized and aesthetically pleasing an area is, the more a learner can embrace being there! My reading support students struggle with motivation and persistence. I know that creating a warm, welcoming environment for them will create ownership in the classroom and push them to become even more successful.
