My Project

Social-emotional learning helps students learn ways to navigate big feelings that can come on throughout the school day. A fully funded Donors Choose project would help me create resources for each classroom at SLES. The requested books, stress toys, timers, thera-putty, and other items will help teachers build calming spaces where students can appropriately manage big feelings without needing to spend time out of the classroom. Students will be able to learn how to recognize changes in their bodies that require some self-soothing and de-escalation to be ready to learn.
