Calling for Headphones
My students need 22 sets of headphones and 10 headphone sound splitters for collaboration.
A day in my classroom is an glimpse into the future. My students are working their research skills, so that they may participate in the STEM learning approach. STEM requires students to research and take responsibility for their own learning. We hope for independent learners at the end of the year.
My students are exceptional learners who work to better themselves and the greater Atlanta area each and every day.
A full 95% of my students represent the minority, and over 90% of my school receives free and reduced price lunch. My student do not use their home lives as an excuse, and they want to take advantage of each learning opportunity.
My students will use these headphones on a daily basis. We use technology in our small group rotations throughout the day. Students will be able to watch educational video, listen to podcasts, attend virtual field trips, listen to read-a-loud books, and play standard based learning games. The headphones and headphone splitters will change the dynamics of my classroom and make it a more engaging environment.
This project will support the learning needs of all my students, but especially the students who are reading below grade-level.
The headphones will allow students to become independent learners and transform my classroom.
