I teach a class of 5th grade scholars who are curious, creative and active. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, and have experiences beyond their years. Despite their challenges, they come to school excited to learn and interact with each other.
Many of my students do not have access to high quality, engaging books that can satiate their desire to become strong readers and independent learners.
Our school is in the heart of Northern Utah surrounded by mountains, but families still struggle to have their needs met.
My students strive to enter the world prepared to take on even the most challenging situation. Knowing they have the skills to overcome any obstacle that comes their way, will set them up for a lifetime of success.
My Project
My students love to read, but few have high quality books at home. The uncertainty of COVID-19 also means they may not always have access to the public library.
These new books will provide my students with the titles they have been begging for, and new ones to entice reluctant readers to the shelves.
My scholars will be so excited to see the amazing number of new books on the shelves which will provide continued growth in their abilities. More choices means more books will be read by this phenomenal group of kids.
