Help me give my students highlighters to find evidence in their reading, sticky notes to ask questions and comment on reading, a sharpener to keep pencils ready to write, and other materials.
My students come from a low income, inner-city community. All students at our school receive free school lunch. My students want to be successful, but don't always have the support and tools to help them to accomplish this task. They come to school, work hard and want to have the same chance as other students with more resources for success. By giving them the tools to succeed we can change the lives of children for the rest of their lives.
My Project
All of my students want the ability to learn with the material and tools to be successful. With the items that I am asking for my students will use these every day in the class when working on projects or just doing their classwork.
There are many ways that these materials will help, for example, the highlighters will help them to find evidence to support their answers, and find unknown or interesting vocabulary in their readings.
The pencil sharpener will have them prepared to write. The sticky notes will help them to jot down notes and help them to share ideas. Thanks for your support.
