My Students

What’s not to love about teaching middle schoolers? They are bold yet timid, kind yet oblivious, not adults but no longer kids. They are beginning their adventures and I hope this project will show them possibilities. These students from a Title I school are worth it!

My Project

Too often, the materials provided by a district for teachers to use for instruction are dry, boring, and dull. Students who want to succeed end up yawning and students who are struggling shut down or just give up. This magazine subscription is engaging and geared toward state standards. This is the kind of reading and writing students should be doing in order to progress in their skills. Scholastic Action can provide a much needed breath of fresh air, without sacrificing excellent academics. This magazine will provide children with a rich language experience. There won’t be any yawning this year in my room!
