Calling All Chromebooks, Your Assistance is Required

Help me give my students Chromebooks so they can access leveled reading passages, practice writing/editing, and engage in i-Ready activities to further enhance their learning process!

My Students

My students are part of the largest school district in New Hampshire. We proudly boast the highest ethnicity and language diversity in the state! My students belong to one of four middle schools in our district and come from a large diversity of socioeconomic backgrounds.

While being part of such a diverse school district gives my students advantages, they also have to deal with many challenges as well.

Many times, funds for simple classroom supplies are not available on a per-family basis. Some of my students are also refugees, immigrants or transient due to family situations. While this gives them a world of personal experience and often makes them stronger than the average person, it also makes it difficult to focus, learn another language and fill in pieces of curriculum that may be missing.

My Project

Having a set of Chromebooks will allow my students to access literacy resources such as i-Ready, Reading Rockets, and ReadTheory where they can listen as well as read a wide variety of stories at their instructional level. Many students are reading several levels below the targeted grade level and leveled literacy resources for these students are very limited if not available.

Reading is an essential life skill and I want all my students to have access to all resources that will help make them successful!

Furthermore, acquiring these Chromebooks will allow my students to practice writing, spelling, and vocabulary skills.
