Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in my class come with a wide range of abilities, interests, and needs. In our integrated classroom, we have respect and understanding that each individual is different, yet equally important.
My students understand that in our class, everyone gets what they need to be successful.
One common goal we all share is motivation for learning in a fun, comfortable, and engaging classroom environment. With this, we are able to meet the needs of all the different learners at the same time.
My Project
My students are requesting new book series such as Amulet, Harry Potter, Ramona Collection, Judy Blume, and Roald Dahl.
Reading for at least 20 minutes a day results in reading for 3,600 minutes and 1,800,000 words per year!
We are looking to add a new range of books to our classroom library. Students in my class have expressed interest in new chapter book series and are anxious to get their hands on new, exciting books. They have expressed interest in Amulet, a graphic novel series that follow the adventures of a young girl who discovers a magical amulet in her great-grandfather's house. My students are also very excited to read the popular Harry Potter fantasy series. They have never read it before and are really looking forward to it!
