This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am very excited this year. For the first time in many years, our school has a full-time art teacher and it's me. I am eagerly anticipating exposing the students that I teach to the many elements of art.

Handwriting is an objective required for all grade levels and Calligraphy is a creative fun way to achieve that goal.

The students are creatively ready to go. They come to my class with anticipation "Let's learn something new and different." Our problem is we need a class set of CALLIGRAPHY Markers.

My Project

Handwriting is an objective required for all grade levels and Calligraphy is a creative fun way to achieve that goal.Recreating a chancery cursive style of lettering will allow them to slow down and embrace the joy of writing. I am requesting your help getting a class set of Calligraphy pens so ALL my students can practice at the same time. By implementing this art form, my students will begin to see themselves as true artist.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, legible handwriting.

The skills and knowledge of calligraphy can improve their lives and those of people around them.
