My Project

In first grade, students must have a grasp of the basics of writing before moving on to writing more in-depth pieces in their future academic careers. COPS stands for Capitalization, Organization, Punctuation, and Spelling, all essential elements of good writing. By using COPS, students can take their writing to the next level and impress their readers with their clarity, organization, and attention to detail. With this project, I would like to review all of my students' hard work with a fun Police Academy day that centers around the COPS writing strategy.

With this project, I plan to bring a sense of joy and seriousness to writing!

Call the COPS! will be a day where students can invite their families to come into my classroom and see what they have learned and put their knowledge to the ultimate test - Miss Biggs' Writing Academy for 1st Grade Anchors. Fly Guy Presents: Police Officers will help my students be able to practice reading sentences fluently and pick out the appropriate use of COPS.
