Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in my classroom are all struggling with a disability - either behavioral, learning, or attentional. Their math levels are far below grade level, but they must be able to perform skills on grade level.

My students are middle school students attending their neighborhood public school.

They rarely come to school with the materials they need, but love to learn and work extremely hard. They have been robbed of the education they deserve for a long time, and I want to give them more.

My Project

Calculators can help my students perform grade-level skills without getting held back by the remedial skills they are missing. Calculators that are held in bins will be easier to keep track of and keep organized so I can keep them for years to come for my students.

Having calculators for their use on all new math skills will greatly help my students acquire the skills they need to function in their grade-level classes.

My students will be able to learn so much more when they are not held back by their disabilities.
