This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the future. They walk into the classroom with energy, unique personal experiences, and so many questions about the world around them. I had a student just yesterday ask, "Miss B, what do you have to do to become an astronaut?" This excitement and curiosity is what I love about my students.

When tasked with purchasing calculators for class, many seemed hesitant for financial reasons; I want to make sure that the future--my students--have exactly what they need to go wherever they are headed.

My Project

Chemistry is the study of matter and how it changes. Since everything is matter, chemistry is essentially the study of everything.

In order for my students to learn more about the world in which they exist, scientific calculators are an essential tool; not having said tool will create tough barriers for them to overcome as they work hard to master the content.

Whether it is determining the molar mass of a water molecule or calculating the amount of carbon dioxide emitted when we burn methane, students need the mathematical support a Texas Instruments TI-30XII calculator can and will provide them.
