My students need TI-30XA Solar School Edition calculators to complete their classwork and take their upcoming benchmark tests and SOL test.
Do you know what it's like to try and do your very best, but without the proper equipment?
I work with middle school students, teaching 6th grade math in Virginia.
Most of my students have very little. We live in a very low economic community. However, my students do try and want to do well. They are inspired by the quote, "Shoot for the moon, if you miss, you'll still be among the stars." It's a quote I live by and share with them.
For most of our Standards of Learning (SOLs) we are allowed to use a calculator to solve the problems. However, the issue is, our calculators are quite old. Some do not work because they loss the capability to run via solar power. Some have scratches and nicks from years of use and make it difficult to see the numbers.
With these calculators, students will be able to complete their work in its entirety and be able to see the correct numbers to write the correct answers.
Students will not have to share or wait to complete their work.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
