This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the past year, we have been using DESMOS, an online graphing and calculator program for our students in physics, chemistry, and calculus. This has been great, but our students do not know how to use a scientific graphing calculator, which is a skill they must have when taking college entrance and placement exams. Because our school serves an economically disadvantaged community our students cannot afford these types of calculators. By having the calculators available to them they will be better prepared for the rigorous STEM environment within a university setting.
