My high-school math students are ambitious, sometimes wacky, and come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Not all students will pursue a career in STEM, but they will most certainly carry their mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills into the future.
We MATH and have FUN!
My hope is to engage all students, especially those with an "I'm no good at math" mentality, and help them be successful and believe in themselves. Please fund my project, so I can instead focus on learning more bad jokes to tell my classes!
By having a full set of calculators (all of the same model) available in my math classroom, I can even the playing field for my students, some of whom cannot afford to purchase their own calculator.
Help me avoid last minute scrambles to find calculators for students to use in my classroom!
Yes, we teachers already have access to a limited number of shared calculators, but not nearly enough! It's a struggle especially those days were multiple teachers are giving math tests simultaneously. I teach five different math classes of up to 36 students each, so your donation will benefit up to 180 students, who won't have to worry about not having a calculator during class (especially during tests)!
