My Students

Once students step into my classroom, they are no longer students. They are "my kids". They are kind, caring, outgoing, shy, and AMAZING kids. Each one is special in his/her own unique way. They each bring a quality to the classroom that helps our classroom function.

My kids teach me something new every day.

My kids encourage each other. My kids support each other. We are a team in our room. As a team, we build each other up and create an environment that allows all of us to learn.

My Project

In our room, we are mathematicians. We work hard each day to improve our math skills. Fluency skills are a HUGE part of our daily learning, but they are not the only part of our learning. One of our Standards for Mathematical Practice is to "use appropriate tools strategically". One of those tools is calculators.

Calculators are tools that enhance our mathematical work.

Our current calculators have seen better days. Many of them have buttons that do not work or buttons that no longer have a number or operation on them. They are no longer helpful tools in their current condition. To better help my kids succeed, I am requesting new calculators. New calculators would be beneficial to their learning.
