Our school is located in the Stapleton Projects on Staten Island. Many of our students are new immigrants and fall below the poverty line. Our children do not have a school library (it is being renovated) and rely on the books we have in class. Unfortunately my classroom library is limited. We need new books to generate excitement and a love of reading. Our math unit asks us to introduce calculators to our students, yet we were not supplied with them. We would greatly appreciate help purchasing these items to make our class run smoothly and to provide New York's children with the tools they need to succeed. Thank you for considering my grant request.
