My Students

I teach about 100 9th graders with a variety of different backgrounds. I teach all 9th-grade students who have failed the math section of their LEAP test. All of my students struggle with math and I feel that with the use of a calculator, they will succeed in the classroom. Pre-Math Essentials is a combination of what my students have learned in 8th grade and what they will learn in Algebra I. My goal for the school year is to get all my students ready to enter Algebra I.

My Project

I teach Pre-Math Essentials so all of my students struggle with math. With these calculators, I will be able to give my students equitable opportunities to keep up with their peers that are in Algebra I. I just graduated from college and am super excited to start teaching. With being a new teacher, I have a limited amount of resources and no calculators for my students to be able to use. My students will be in Algebra I next year and will be able to use calculators in the classroom. I would love to get a classroom set of calculators for my students to start using in order to get them prepared for Algebra I.
