My students come into my classroom every day with obstacles that I may not even know about because they are hidden away. This does not stop them from overcoming adversity and succeeding in the classroom. That is just one thing I love about them. They have so much that could be holding them back but they don't let it.
Perseverance, determination, and hard work all come together to help my students overcome daily obstacles in their lives.
As a community, we have the ability to help. They strive daily to be their best, to be better than they were yesterday and that means the world to me.
As a teacher, I do my best to provide them with multiple opportunities to learn, test their learning, and grow. These are opportunities that they may never have had before but I give them that chance at success. My students are unique in their personalities, learning, and daily lives; their learning experiences should be targeted towards their unique qualities.
My Project
Right now, my students are using 11 random calculators in math and science. With 11 random calculators, you need 11 different sets of instructions on how each calculator works, which wastes a lot of time in the classroom. Each day, students may not end up with the same calculator they had the day before. None of my students realized how complex a calculator could be when you have to use random ones.
We need calculators that are the same; this way, we all know how to use the calculators instead of needing an explanation daily on how to use a different calculator.
