I am a third year math teacher in Asheville, NC. I teach at an underprivileged school that has the highest amount of minorities in the state. Along with the many other responsibilities of a third year teacher, I am enrolled in a program that is training me to use and incorporate a special middle school graphing calculator in my class. The activities possible with this calculator are amazing! Having graphing calculators available is a huge aid for those children who are visual learners. Another advantage is the students are allowed to use these calculators on the end-of-grade test. Unfortunately, these calculators run about $79 each. My goal is to have a classroom set(30) within the next few years. I am also hoping to conduct a demonstration for the other math teachers in the building in an attempt to encourage the use of these magnificent calculators across the school. If it is possible for you to donate even enough for one of the these calculators it would be much appreciated by both myself and the students. Thank-you in advance for your consideration!
