My Students

My 6th grade math students love to learn! I teach future writers, lawyers, doctors, and, of course, teachers! I focus on math instruction, trying to enrich and remediate students so they can find success not only at the end of the year but in future math courses also.

We hope to inspire the students to do their best every day, reaching for the stars with all their might.

By increasing the focus on how perseverance, grit, and determination can play a part in the road to success, I know our students will meet their goals!

Our school has about 100% of the students qualifying for free breakfast and lunch. Our students rely on school supplies and uniform donations. Our school is so thankful for the support from DonorsChoose.org!

My Project

My 6th grade students work hard to master their money and decimal skills. We need calculators to check our work and prepare for our LEAP test. Calculator skills actually have to be taught. Using a calculator is something all adult and productive citizens have to do each day. I would like to prepare my students not only for this year's test but also for future successes as business owners and employees.

Having a classroom set of calculators would provide my students the opportunity to develop lifelong decimal and money skills.
