Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach literacy to two groups of students. My students are eager to learn and most love to read. My morning group reads above grade level, while my afternoon is reading below grade level. Both groups are a joy to have. The reason for this letter is to share with you the daily challenges that I face with my literacy students as low level readers and the lack of consistent technology to help aid in their deficiencies. Currently, each grade level has one chromebook cart with a set of thirty chromebooks. We are a four person team within my grade level and unfortunately we have to share the chromebooks one day per week. There are so many interventions that I could plan for, however, due to the lack of the daily availability to technology, I am limited as to when my students can use effective online resources to help with their reading skills, deficiencies and practice. With this said, I am kindly asking for with providing funds so that I can provide the necessary technological resources for my students to become better readers and writers. My Project
The chrome books are what I need in order to provide my students access to technology and online resources daily.
They will be set up as a center where students will rotate and use them twice a week.
They will be assigned specific reading activities from our reading curriculum and games from www.roomrecess.com that reinforce skills taught.
