My Students

My students are a group of diverse, hard working, intelligent children who prompt me to look forward to starting each school day. Living in a small section of a large urban district, there is a strong sense of community in our school and even greater in our classroom. My inquisitive students work together to solve problems, to guide each other, and push us all to achieve our goals.

Teaching at the elementary school that I attended, in the city in which I grew up, every day is rewarding.

Our school provides our students with not only a safe environment but also rigorous academics and emotional/behavioral support. Working in an advanced work class, my goal is to prepare my students for success in high school, college, and beyond.

My Project

My hard working, smart students always want to do their best! This desire and drive to be the best though sometimes causes fidgeting and butterflies in our bellies. Some struggle to maintain focus on lengthy tasks.

Bouncy bands on their chairs will provide a safe outlet for my students to release their nerves and anxiety.

Often times, standardized testing not only increases our stress levels but also means sitting in our seats at our desks for long periods of time. The bouncy bands will ease our stress and help us focus on our work, helping us to meet our lofty goals.
