Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember going to school and seeing someone get bullied? Maybe you stood there not doing anything because you didn't know what to do. I want to be able to change that in my classroom and be able to teach my students about bullying.
The students in my school live in high poverty.
Everyone in our school gets a free breakfast and lunch due to their low economic status. Most of my students are English language learners and they come to school eager to learn. For most of my students, kindergarten is the first time they have experienced being in a school setting. Some do not know what bullying is, even though they have experienced it. I want my students to get a clear understanding of how bullying affects everyone.
My Project
I am requesting books that target bullying. I feel that is is imperative that my students, especially at a young age, know how bullying affects people. I know that books about bullying in the classroom will give them a clear understanding that bullying in and outside the classroom is not okay. I am also requesting math and language learning puzzles, sorting cards and chart, as well as other materials that will enrich my students. My students will be able to work cooperatively and will learn the fundamentals of friendship and getting along while learning and having fun. They will learn that working together as friends is much better than bullying.
Please help make a difference and donate to this project.
It is very important for my kindergarten class to know the meaning of bullying and the impact it truly has on both children and adults. With books and learning materials, and your help, they will be able to do this. This learning lesson will be one that my students will carry with them as they grow older. Please help make this project a reality. Thank you again in advance for considering my project.
