My students need a one and a half inch binders, pencil pouches, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, markers and colored pencils to be prepared for the classroom.
Our day is full of buzzing, engaged students who not only want to learn grade level expectations, but to excel. By the end of the year, I would like for my students to love learning and to exceed grade level standards. My biggest challenge is having the resources to achieve this task.
Our school is a small, Title One, STEAM school that has seen many budget cuts in the past several years.
I currently have twenty, busy bees in my classroom. These children come from a low-income, rural area.
Over eighty percent of my students receive free or reduced price lunch, but that doesn't stop this brilliant and caring community of learners from setting high academic goals throughout the school year and achieving them.
My Project
My mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing the needed school supplies to help them achieve knowledge and become critical thinkers who are good at solving problems.
My children desperately need the basic necessities to buzz through our busy day at school and home.
I am asking for twenty-one 1.5 inch binders, ninety-six packs of crayons, ten packs of card stock, nine gross of pencils, two cases of pencil pouches, a case of colored pencils, 180 glue sticks, scissors, index cards, erasers, two hundred book rings and Funny Face Cap Erasers. These much needed school supplies will help keep them organized and prepared to learn because they deserve better than what they have been given.
By purchasing my Busy Bees binders, pencil pouches, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, markers and colored pencils, my students will be prepared for school. My Busy Bees will not have to steal from our classroom community and others to survive in the academic world. They will be able to do math, art and writing assignments.
