Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with 24 eager and vivacious kindergarten students ready to learn new and exciting things the moment they step foot inside my classroom. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches and come from homes that are unable to provide them with the technology and basic play materials that have become so common in society today. My students come to class each day wanting to explore new things and I love giving them an experience that they will take with them for a lifetime!
Not many people can say that they are passionate about their job, but for me, this is a dream come true getting to educate young minds!
My Project
One of my favorite subjects to teach my students is science, my favorite of which is entomology! These hands-on activities will allow my students to become fully engaged in learning all about their buzzing friends. The life cycle magnets, insect viewers, and real-life specimens will excite my students and allow them to have an appreciation for the creepy crawly insects in the world.
With your help, these students will be able to explore different insect body types and learn about what makes them so fascinating.
Not many kiddos can say they are able to hold scorpions and tarantulas in class! We will be extremely grateful for your generous donations.
