Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am writing this proposal for my high school vocal students that participate in our Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Choirs. Our high school serves a large urban area and has a high percentage of students that are low-income.
Many of our students are highly interested and motivated in their study of vocal music.
We have many talented students who often cannot afford to purchase the music that they need to reach higher levels of success. As a result, our music program must provide them with appropriate music and opportunities to experience and learn high quality vocal repertoire. If our program does not provide our students with these learning opportunities, it is possible that they will never be able to experience significant success at music festivals and college auditions.
My Project
We are requesting the purchase of a portable button machine press to use as an ongoing fundraising tool. These low cost items will sell like hot cakes! Our students are interested in using this kind of tool at school functions such as international days, dances, and open house to raise money for the choir department. The funds raised would be used to help cover the cost of music and private tutors to help some of our more disadvantaged students. The use of this kind of machine has the potential to raise a significant amount of money for our choir department.
