My students need 2 Butterfly Pavilions and 1 Cricket Kit for their FOSS science unit on insects. We've already studied mealworms and now would like to move on to butterfly larva and crickets.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's said that the best way to learn is through direct experience, which is why I would love for my class to have experience with real insects rather than just studying them from a book.
My students are very inquisitive and love hands-on learning.
They live in a low-income area and are very appreciative of even the smallest gifts. We are studying insects as part of our FOSS unit and it is perhaps their favorite time of day. They are just fascinated with this subject, but sadly we don't have the funds at our school to get refills of live insect cultures.
My Project
I'm hoping to instill in my students a love of science and a love for life in all its forms. They have thus far studied mealworms, which have now changed from larva to pupa to beetles and they are having a blast! They don't even want to release their new "babies" into the wild they get so much enjoyment out of them. I figured they'll be less upset at letting their subjects of study go if we move on to observing butterflies and crickets.
I am requesting 2 Butterfly Pavilions and 1 Cricket Kit.
My students may or may not become entomologists someday but I do believe their hands-on experience with these creatures will make a strong imprint in their minds for a life-time.
It will not only help them understand insects but will also help them learn to respect these life forms as well.
