This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project will benefit the whole first grade, over 80 students. We will receive vouchers to order live caterpillars to watch the butterfly life cycle in our classrooms. Then, we will release our butterflies together outside! This is an amazing opportunity covered by the first grade science standards, however, larvae needs to be purchased each year, and it is not a super cheap project. This will allow all first graders to receive the same educational standards without worrying about which teachers will purchase the resources out of their own budgets.
