My students need butterfly larvae and a butterfly pavilion to watch the butterfly life cycle in person, watching the magical transformation of the larva into a butterfly. We would also like a hands-on model set and magnets for them to explore and further understand.

My Students
Our children attend a full day Pre-K program. Our classroom is full of 18 vibrant, curious young learners.
Our children are extremely low income, and may have many other developmental risk factors.
Our day is full of interactive play, family style meals, and outdoor recess! During our school day, we go outside for at least an hour to play. We also have work time where the children plan an activity and then do the activity (play based learning) with others.
My Project
This group of 18 preschool children, love to watch things grow. My class loves to feed the birds and collect things from nature, like rocks, and worms. I know this will be a special experience for them. Releasing the live butterflies is always a memorable treat!
Watching the transformation of caterpillar to butterfly is truly magical, especially though the eyes of 4 and 5 year old preschool children.
We are hoping to get the the larva, a magnetic butterfly life cycle set, a model set of a butterfly life cycle and the butterfly house. The house will hopefully be used for years to come, allowing future classes to experience this extraordinary gift as well.
