This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Butterflies are scarce in the city. We would love to beautify our city with the bright colors that only butterflies can provide! School climate is an important aspect when residing in an urban setting. We need positive educational activities to boost a creative and mindful learning environment. Seeing butterflies being released into our beautiful city is a sight to see!

We would love to teach the butterfly life cycle to the entire school and have a school wide/community outreach event that will provide our area of Trenton with the release of over 200 butterflies!

Every teacher in every classroom will be teaching the science of the butterfly, the excellent literature and the offering of creative writing will be taught during this time. Not to mention, the artistic inspiration that butterflies provide will be fully utilized by our art and music teachers. Our students will learn so much about the amazing metamorphosis that a butterfly goes through and will become excited and creative learners in the process!

This project will allow us to reach out to our community and get them excited and involved in some of the great opportunities that our school can and will provide.

Having this school wide butterfly release event will create such a buzz and promote learning in so many ways! Please help us provide our wonderful students with a meaningful, life impacting, learning experience!
